I. Taking notes
One of the key lessons of this class involves learning how to learn. One key ingredient if effective note taking. This is a skill you need in upper-level high school courses and in college. (And in many careers.) Note taking is a process of organizing thoughts, and emphasizing the important things, while leaving out the less important things.
How do you do it? Begin by asking this question: what does the teacher want me to learn? Think like your teacher for a minute. That will help you begin the process of outlining your work.
How do you outline? There are two ways:
One is chronological. You list items in the order they are presented.
Another is thematic. You list the important names, and concepts in order of importance. For today's lesson, I' am listing things thematically. I've given your a basic outline, in the form of questions.
