Today, we will begin the fundamentals of lighting. You will start with this basic term and concepts.
Three point lighting -- all lighting uses lights which serve three purposes for lighting subjects, especially faces.
The key light is the primary, or dominant light. It defines the face and lights the features of the subject or subjects' face(s).
The fill light fills in shadows produced by the key light, offering some balance to the shot.
The back light lights the hair and the shoulders and gives a three-dimensional look, pulling the subject away from the background.
