Development of Lesson
One classroom session
- Start off class by introducing Andy Warhol images and my own self portrait that the lesson is planned around.
- Have the students take their self-portraits.
- The students will then upload their photograph to Photoshop and size it correctly using the transform option. 640x480 pixels RGB.
- They will then add a layer over top of the image
- Using the paintbrush tool, the students will then outline their face and body. I will emphasize simplifying the image to make it easier to use the Photoshop tools.
- After outlining the images they will then delete the bottom layer that was the photograph revealing only the drawing.
- The students will then start adding color using the paint bucket tool. I will emphasize using fun and wild colors like the Andy Warhol images that I had showed previously.
