Today, you will learn the clone stamp tool.
You will take a before photo of three cross country team
members and you will remove all the people in the photo
who are not on the team.
Key terms
Clone -- to copy, to make a perfect copy
source -- where your pixels are taken.
target -- where you choose to copy the pixels in the source
You will use
-- the zoom tool
-- the clone stamp tool
Two steps to the clone stamp.
1. Find your source pixels. Put your cursor at the target site.
2. Hold down your OPTION button and CLICK your mouse once.
3. Move your cursor to the target spot and drag it across the area where you want to
replace pixels. You will see the source cross move in concert with your target cross.
Use the option bar to set the size of your clone circle. Also, zoom in if you need to replace pixels in small areas.
Your task
-- Remove all the extra people from the photo. DO NOT crop the photo.
-- When you are done, go to save as and follow these directions carefully.
1. In the save as box, type your name and clone
2. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! In the Format box, click the dropdown menu and choose
JPEG. DO NOT save the project as a photoshop file. Photoshop files are about 100 times
bigger than jpegs and will take half a day to a day to e-mail to me. JPEGs are much smaller
and arrive in minutes.
3. When you are asked for quality, choose 8 or good.
4. E-mail your JPEG file to me when you are done.
Anybody who sends me a Photoshop file gets 30 points off.
